Warehouse Manager
Salary – £55,000-£60,000
Location: Dorking, Surrey (own transport required due to rural location)
Monday – Friday
Our client is a leading manufacturer specialising in high-quality consumables and sealing solutions for molecular biology. They are currently seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to lead and develop their warehouse operations at their Surrey site.
This is a key leadership role, responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and compliant management of warehouse operations while meeting budgetary, service, and customer requirements.
The Role
As Warehouse Manager, you will have full responsibility for the day-to-day management and continuous improvement of the warehouse function. You will play a pivotal role in supporting operational demand, customer service levels, and business growth, while ensuring compliance with all quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.
You will also act as the warehouse lead for the transition to a new Oracle MRP/ERP system, making this an exciting opportunity for someone with strong systems and change-management experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the warehouse lead for the transition to a new Oracle MRP/ERP system
- Ensure an efficient and scalable warehouse operation that meets business and customer demand
- Maintain a safe working environment, ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental procedures are fully embedded and adhered to
- Plan, coordinate and monitor the receipt, storage and dispatch of all goods
- Drive a zero-tolerance approach to deviations from quality processes to ensure customer deliverables are met
- Ensure accuracy of inventory transactions and maintain precise stock location records
- Plan future warehouse capacity requirements and optimise space utilisation
- Ensure all goods-in and goods-out documentation and labelling is accurate and compliant
- Identify system and process improvements and lead implementation of change
- Develop and maintain KPIs, metrics, reports, SOPs, training records and safety documentation
- Create and maintain warehouse policies and procedures aligned with quality and accreditation standards
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, add value and reduce costs
- Lead, develop and motivate the warehouse team, promoting best-practice warehousing principles
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in a Warehouse Manager or Supervisory role (essential)
- Strong knowledge of warehouse policies, procedures and best practices
- Demonstrable leadership and people-management skills
- Experience working with inventory management and ERP/MRP systems
- Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Solid understanding of Quality, Health & Safety requirements
- Experience in training, planning and team development
