Our client is a residential care home, providing high quality care for up to 50 ‘older’ residents in the Dorking area, they are looking for a Cook to work alongside the kitchen team to provide high standards of food for residents.
Your Responsibilities:
- Work at all times within the practice taught in the Food Hygiene course
- To prepare food for appropriate meal as specified by the menu and to ensure food waste is kept to a minimum
- Ensure any food prepared looks pleasant, is tasty and kept hot/cold as needed
- To ensure kitchen is tidy and clean at the end of shift so it is a safe environment for other staff
- Make sure fridge, freezers and food temperatures are recorded twice a day
- Be on top of daily/weekly and monthly cleaning tasks so they are carried out to a high standard and signed for
- To ensure the Better Food Better Business is correct and kept up to date
- During meal times, ask residents for their feedback on the meals
- Ordering check to make sure plenty of stock is able to fulfil the daily menus
- To be aware of residents’ nutritional needs and cater for this.
The role is needed for 35 hour week working a mix of shifts 7.30am-2.30pm and 12.30am-7.30pm with alternate weekends the pay is from £12.21 up to £12.55/hr with an additional uplift of £1.65/hour at weekends.
You will be given a full induction into the role, giving you the skills you require to deliver meals to restaurant standards, as well as fully funded job specific training.
