Working for a well-established Specialist Contract Catering Company our client is actively seeking to recruit a Food Service Assistant to join their full complement of Kitchen Staff who are based in an independent school in Caterham, Surrey.

As a Food Service Assistant you will be working in a friendly, busy and physically demanding position. Your principle duties will be to, assist with food service during meal times, subsequently conduct clear down and cleaning duties in a timely manner. Ideally you will have some experience of working in a professional Kitchen environment. In addition, you will be expected to: –

Duties

• Works as part of the catering team to prepare food for service.
• Prepares service and dining areas as instructed by line manager
• Prepares light refreshments and beverages as instructed by line manager
• Ensures minimum food wastage
• Creative with food presentation and preparation
• Ensure area(s) under control are cleaned as per cleaning schedule
• Operate catering equipment
• Prepare and participate in special functions (which may be outside normal working hours) and ‘theme days’ (and dishes) as required
• Attends training sessions as required
• Complies with all statutory and company health and safety practices and procedures, including manual handling
