Our Client is a family-owned group of day nurseries located across Hampshire and Surrey.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join the team as a Nursery Cook in the Fleet Nursery. As a rapidly growing setting, you would be managing the provision of freshly cooked meals for up to 110 children on a daily basis.
Our client takes pride in providing fresh, home-cooked meals and accommodating a variety of allergies, intolerances and cultural/ personal preferences. A 4-week rolling menu provides a two-course lunch, hot tea with tasty side dish as well as 2 snacks throughout the day. The successful candidate will be competent, passionate about cooking and able to maintain high levels of hygiene within the kitchen. You will be able to work well independently and (when occupancy dictates) with another member of kitchen staff.
This role requires the candidate to have a catering/ food related Level 2 or 3 qualification, a valid Food Hygiene Certificate, Allergen Awareness training and experience of cooking for young children and babies. Experience of managing an Environmental Health Inspection would be beneficial.
This position is Monday- Friday, with hours ideally being 8.30am-5.30pm to ensure that the provision of breakfast, 2 x snacks, lunch and tea are met- but this can be negotiated if you feel that you can achieve these tasks faster than the prescribed hours. Open 51 weeks of the year.
To ensure a handover from our current chef, it would be ideal for the successful candidate to start before the end of May.
